Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the CTIAU website and services at ctiau.org, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and members.
2. About CTIAU
The Chess Trainers & Instructors Association of Uganda (CTIAU) is the national body for licensing and developing chess trainers and instructors in Uganda. We operate in affiliation with the Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) and recognise FIDE trainer and educator titles.
3. Accounts
To apply for membership or access member-only features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.
4. Membership
Membership in CTIAU is subject to review and approval by the association. Submitting an application does not guarantee membership. CTIAU reserves the right to approve, reject, suspend, or revoke membership at its discretion, including for conduct unbecoming of a chess trainer or instructor.
Membership tiers (Ordinary, Premium) carry different benefits as determined by CTIAU from time to time. FIDE title designations displayed on your profile must be accurate and verifiable.
5. Member Directory
Active members consent to having their name, photo, location (district/region), FIDE title, and membership tier displayed publicly in the CTIAU member directory. This information may be visible to anyone who visits the directory. You may request removal from the public directory by contacting us, subject to your membership remaining active.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information in your application or profile
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use our platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
- Scrape, harvest, or copy member data without written permission

All content on this website, including text, logos, graphics, and design, is the property of CTIAU or its licensors and is protected under applicable law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent from CTIAU.
8. Limitation of Liability
CTIAU provides its services on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CTIAU shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid to CTIAU in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to our services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these terms or is harmful to other members, the association, or third parties.
